You would need to have previous experience working as a nanny/au pair with children/toddlers or newborns.
You will need to have proof of CPR training, or be willing to go on a CPR course focused on children and babies.
You will need to have contactable references.

What are the requirements for registering with Happy Helpers?
To be dedicated and responsible.
To have the relevant qualifications or experience for the position you are applying for.
To be willing to attend an initial interview to gauge your suitability for the type of clients who approach us.
To have contactable references available.
To respect the values, rights and confidentiality of your employer and their family.
To be honest during the interview process, and have a history of honesty and reliability.
No criminal record.
Valid ID or Work Permit with Valid Passport.
Willing to undergo a criminal and/or a credit reference on request.
To attend interviews on time and in person.
To be truthful during the interview process, and indicate any concerns or reservations regarding the interview process directly with Happy Helpers.
Cape Town based.
Does Happy Helpers have a registration fee?
No, there is no candidate registration fee.
Can I refer a friend to Happy Helpers?
Yes if your friend's experience and training is in child care and nursing, we would definite love to hear from them.

Does Happy Helpers offer Nanny and CPR training?
Not at present, however we are busy designing a course with a trainer and will have this available soon. Please keep checking in - we are also on Facebook, so you can link with us there as well.

What is the Happy Helpers application procedure?
Step 1: Registration - contact us so that we have your details on record.
Step 2: Attend an interview - we will set up a personal interview time for you to attend a one on one interview.
Step 3: We will request permission to conduct a criminal, credit and reference check.
Step 4: We will prepare your CV, conduct reference checks and make clients aware of your availability.
Step 5 : Client goes through CV's, and indicates a shortlist of who she/he wishes to interview.
Step 6 : Interview set up with client, and feedback to each candidate.
Step 5: Possible second interview with family.
Step 6: Employment - or Trial Basis for family to gauge suitability.
Step 7 : Offer of employment.
Step 8 : Accept or Negotiate terms of offer.
Step 9 : Information regarding duties, and responsibilities are clarified, start new position.
Step 10: Follow up with you after you start to check that you are satisfied that things are going to plan, and whether you have any feedback that you require us to assist with.
I will evaluate whether to bring you in for an interview after receipt of your CV and details via fax.
